the tradition of german shooting clubs is about uniforms, brass bands, shooting and drinking. the clubs crown a their king once a year. the king pays for most of the drinking. being a king is an honor and it is expensive. the values of the shooting clubs tend to be on the conservative side. once a year they march out. on this boiling hot day in june in lower saxony the annual „Schuetzenausmarsch“ was spiced up with quite a few rainbow flags and drag queens and kings. the marchers and march spectators seemed genuinely happy. looking good!
